I never forget. My father died from his war injuries when I was 14. Unlike privileged Prince Harry, he had no sense of entitlement, nor bragged about his time with the Desert Rats or spoke of his 2 years in a desert hospital suffering from collapsed lungs from being blown up and buried in the sand! He was invalided out on The Queen Mary, then a hospital ship, and still stretchered off and taken to Hatfield House, then being used as a hospital for injured soldiers. He had flash backs he would never speak of and worked every day after recuperation until a few days before he died…. He never took a handout from his country, quietly considering only his duty to it. My mother, at 38 years of age, received a war widows pension to help her bring up 4 children alone! I believe those in power today, including Charles Windsor, do nothing more than my father, but, indeed, do far less. Even a king can betray his fellow-man these days and still be presented as near perfect, while hiding behind false and manipulative press releases from Buckingham Palace PR! None of them can hold a cap to men like my father….. Leslie Alfred Haeger. I’ve never forgotten you, Daddie…. With all my love, respect and justifiable pride, always, Your Susie. xXx

I think as a veteran we should be treated better than we are. And also when we voted to get out that we should’ve got out of the UE completely and not what this government is doing and I think veterans should be paid better than we are cause we get next to nothing.
