Join Britain's Biggest Thank You To Veterans

The Armed Forces Pledge is a simple way to show that their service and sacrifice are seen, valued and remembered.

More than 1.8 million veterans live in the UK, alongside serving personnel and their families. From National Service and Northern Ireland to the Falklands, Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan, generations have served our country. The Armed Forces Pledge is our way of bringing people across Britain together to say thank you - and to show that their service has not been forgotten.

Your pledge matters.

Add your name, add an optional message, and show the Armed Forces community that Britain is still with them.

As a Veteran myself, fortunately never injured on the line of duty, I applaud this initiative

Was it hard serving, you bet it was and is

Was I ever scared? Is it something I miss?

Did it change me from the person I used to be

Did it weaken my life, or help me see

Why did I join up, what did I need

Why did I offer my life to bleed

Well let me tell you my dear fellow brothers

Yes, if you served your a brother from other mothers

It wasn’t pride or a patriotic thing

I was broken and needed fixing

I remember that very first day

People like me looking for another way

Boys really, looking for adventure and fun

The thrill of battles to be won

Finding out there was only one thing we can rely on

It’s each other brothers, remember that, before we are gone

The days spent together through many hardships and pain

Forming us as one, look what we became

No longer boys, mighty warriors we were

Longing to fight, longing to serve

Yes we’ve been through some stuff, some too hard to bare

But brothers, if I’ve learned anything, that pain inside, we must share

It’s brothers like us, who can understand and be that ear

It’s brothers like us, not embarrassed to share a tear

It’s brothers like us, that have got your back

It’s brothers like us that will carry your pack

So if your still living your war, if that pain won’t go away

Cmon fellow soldiers, come have your say

Speak to a brother, someone who can be there for you

If not a fellow brother whose seen it, then who?

I will finish by reminding you of this

When we served together it wasn’t all bliss

But one thing we have both then and NOW

Which we all seem to forget somehow

We are better together, open your eyes and see

Let’s heal our pasts, don’t be an I, brothers we are a WE
