    It is a stain on our country and a national shame how little support, respect and gratitude is shown to our veterans. I hope this starts to turn around in my lifetime.

    My father served from 1939 through to 1976. He retired at the rank of Major within various Light Infantry Regiments. After his retirement he devoted his retirement years working for SAFFA. He never claimed any expenses, it was his way of helping those veterans from all three main services and their families. In his time our family travelled with the Battalion, living within the barracks MQ’s. As a young boy my brother and I learned every bugle call from reveille to lights out including all those in between. No retired I am disgusted at the treatment of OUR VETERANS. including their families. The utter betrayal of our government now call for more young men and women to volunteer, when they have all but abandoned our veterans to face the recent alleged threats to our security,

    What would we do without our veterans who in my opinion have had a raw deal . Thank goodness for charities such as these . As a Mother of a son who has served & still serving 26yrs I salute & thank you all ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

    Thank you all for your service and personal sacrifice enduring horrendous situations while proudly serving your King Queen and country throughout the years and many of you suffering life changing injuries and others paying the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the UK and far beyond from yhose ongoing real life snd real time threats to the UK Nationsl Security and to Democrady in so many other countries.
