Ron Davis signed Armed Forces Pledge 2026-10-10 14:16:01 +0100As a babyboomer I missed conscription so never served but my youngest son did serve in the reserves in Afghanistan and Iraq, long since left the Regiment and living in Australia.
As an octogenarian, I fully appreciate the sacrifices so many have made in deaths and others are still making due to their life changing mental and physical injuries which it is hoped have made our lives and security safer.
Unfortunately our governments don’t seem to appreciate our veterans but prefer to virtue signal by rewarding those who appear to want to destroy everything our veterans fought for whilst failing to provide care and support to those veterans.Join Britain's Biggest Thank You To Veterans
The Armed Forces Pledge is a simple way to show that their service and sacrifice are seen, valued and remembered.
More than 1.8 million veterans live in the UK, alongside serving personnel and their families. From National Service and Northern Ireland to the Falklands, Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan, generations have served our country. The Armed Forces Pledge is our way of bringing people across Britain together to say thank you - and to show that their service has not been forgotten.
